Okay K, you can do this! You need this surgery for your health and it’s only 8 weeks that you will not be able to work out! You lost the weight once and you can do it again. You know for you it’s just mind over matter!
This is part of the conversation I had before deciding to have the surgery and for the last 8 plus weeks that I haven’t been able to exercise due to me having a hysterectomy. I have been putting this off for a couple of years but had to get it done due to that word several women can relate to----Fibroids. (We can talk about that later) Now it is time to get back to my workouts and my fit and fine body!
I know those who follow me on my social media platforms, @kaevon_lyte on IG and Kaevon Lyte McCray on Facebook, are wondering where all of my workout videos have been for the last 8 weeks! Now you know!
It is time for a comeback!
I have become a workout junkie and pretty good about my overall health since December of 2014. Check out my New Year New You post - http://www.kaevonlyte.com/post/new-year-new-you. I was basically satisfied, on a consistent basis, with my overall health and the look of my body. I had been able to pretty much maintain my weight with about a 5 - 6 pound (no more than 10 at most on special occasions like my birthday!) fluctuation for the past 5 years.
Then I had this hysterectomy that knocked me off my game. I could have probably maintained even without being able to exercise for these 8 plus weeks but I was like f*** it with my diet! I was in soooo much pain and I couldn’t do anything fun or exciting —- especially since we are stuck in the house due to Rona—- so I chose to eat and drink to ease my pain!
Welp, here I am today, like giiiiiirl you are so overweight! I can’t fit my clothes properly and I look like I’m 7 months pregnant! (Because, of course, all of my weight goes to my back and my belly, not my boobs or butt!) When I got on the scale on September 1st I weighed 160 pounds and my regular weight is 145-150. So even if you don’t see it or can’t believe it I am. You will see all the pictures as proof! (The one above is 160 plus pounds on the left and 142 pounds on the right. Look at those love handles poking out!)
Now here is the hard part, fighting my way back to what I know is mine! Climbing back to the top of the mountain. I know it will not be easy but as always I will share my success and failures with you.
This time will be a much harder fight. I’m 45 now! It’s harder to lose the older you get plus I’m sooo out of shape and I have to get my mind right to get back to eating for my health and not because I’m so greedy! (This will be a real struggle for me because I HATE to cook and I no longer live with Momma!) Ugh! Oh and don’t forget I’m just lazy! I’m enjoying rolling out of bed to my computer to work, then rolling off work to the back porch or the couch and chilling for the rest of the night! I am not sure how cooking will fit in…we will see.
One of the best things that I have going for me getting back in shape and to my mountain top is my Foxy Family at Foxy Fitness Studio and Pole . The owner Temika and all my Fellow Foxes at the Den, make it easy to come back in this state, being out of shape and not feel judged but welcomed and encouraged. It is an all women’s gym and even though the workouts are intense it doesn’t feel like it. I think it is the music she plays and how she incorporates sexy moves in between the crazy burpees and other high intense moves. Here is the link if you would like to come check it out. www.afoxieryou.com
I start my journey back to the top on September 12th. That will be my first day back to the gym and working on my food intake. Stay tuned as I press through for my stories and my success. In addition, the stories of others who are climbing to their health mountain tops! Remember your health story will not be the same as mines but start to try to imagine and plan what yours will look like it.
